Melany Torres

Hi! My name is Melany Torres, I am a Senior majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences. Being a first-generation student and the daughter of two immigrants I understand how difficult it can be to succeed in college. Becoming a part of the Academic Achievement Center has helped guide me throughout my academic journey while also teaching me how to support students like myself. Before I was a part of the UConn Connects Mentor program, I had no idea what a cover letter was, let alone how to set up a resume. I am very excited to continue my journey with the Academic Achievement Center and be able to support students along the way.
