Nicole Asamoah

Hey everyone! I’m Nicole Asamoah and I’m a recent dual degree graduate with my Bachelor’s of Social Work (BSW) and a BA in Individualized in Law, Family, and Social Policy from UConn. I’m now a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) Advanced Standing student, concentrating in Individuals, Groups, and Families at the UConn School of Social Work. As a new Academic Coach to UConn Hartford, I’m excited to continue working with students. Last semester, I played a dual role as a UConn Connects mentor and AAC intern and absolutely loved getting to know students on a personal level as well as developing programs for them to be more connected to the University. I want to be a coach in order to continue the process of advocating for students to succeed despite their personal circumstances. There is a lot of stigma that college students asking for help is abnormal but it is important for students to know that college is a marathon, not a race. This is a great opportunity to develop my future clinical skills with my desired career goal to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and work with adolescents and young adults.
